I thought the facilities were very good and the staff were very helpful. They were very good at advising us on transport and helped us to plan our trips by advising us on the weather for the day as it was a little unpredictable when we were there. We liked our big room and the nice bathroom.
I thought the evening meals had a limited choice of food.
No iron in a 4 star hotel, no access to drinking water at night. no transport
The staff at the poolside snack bar were very friendly and always stopped to have a chat. The snack bar food was really nice compared to some hotels I have stayed in and there is a big selection of food on offer. The airconditioning in the bedroom was very quiet and the bedroom and bathroom were very spacious and clean. Good strong shower too. The shuttle bus service was very good too.
While the hotel is a good 20 minute walk from the town centre and the hotel does provide a good shuttle bus the last shuttle bus leaves the town at about 11pm. A bit early for a young couple on holidays. Taxis cost about €20 one way. For those who like to sleep in on holidays, the chamber maids start cleaning from about 7am and we received a knock on the door very early every morning. I would recommend you put on your "do not disturb" sign until you leave the room for the day.
We liked the grounds of the hotel. We also liked the fact that the hotel offers a free bus to and from downtown Sorrento. The staff was polite and friendly.
The public areas -- hallways -- were a bit messy and the carpets were stained and worn. Also, we were advised not to drink the water. We were told we could get bottled water at the hotel bar for 2,50 euros for a two litre bottle.
The hotel may be a little faded in terms of grandeur, but it is overall a smart and clean hotel with an impressive front and immaculately clean pool and pool bar area. The staff are especially friendly, helpful and courteous. The location of the hotel in the charming town of St Agnello is excellent, apart from the very busy road running between the town and Sorrento, the area is picturesque and charming. The aforementioned road to Sorrento can be walked- though a shuttle bus (free) runs from the hotel to Sorrento throughout the day and evening. People with young families might consider bringing a pushchair even if your toddler has grown out of needing one at home because there is a fair amount of walking- whether one goes to visit Sorrento.
Very little to complain about for the money, the food could have been more adventurous but there are plenty of restaurants around and also plenty of supermarkets allowing you to prepare food for day trips- as Sorrento is rather expensive!
It was all very nice and cozy but I think that it is overrated to call this hotel a four starred one. The rooms and breakfast were 2-3 stars at the most!
good breakfast with plenty of waiters attending at the tables. Clean rooms.
they present it as a hotel with free parking, which is good, but there is not a proper parking lot. You have to park your car in the garden of the hotel along the aisle that brings to the reception and they will ask you to leave the key at the reception. If you are unlucky, the other cars, that do not find a place at the side of the road, will park in the middle of the aisle and block your car. We had 6 cars blocking our car when we had to leave and it took approximately 40 minutes to identify the cars, get all the keys and move them. I understand one has to be patient, but I really think that they should organize the parking system better.
I was surprised by the induvidual approach of manager and staff to their guests! Also the restaurant and the offered service was outstanding. We felt lucky to be their guests during some day's and whenever possible we will come to stay again.
clean, nice pool and outside area.
room was on the small side for a 4 star triple room. Food wasn't great.
We liked the location, sweeping driveway complete with working fountain at its head, the attentive and polite, staff. The air-conditioned room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The room was serviced every day by a very efficient maid who was a real credit to the hotel. The food was of a high standard and the restaurant was managed by `Orlando' and his very friendly staff. We liked the `shuttle-bus' service which took you to the heart of Sorrento and was always on time.
The only thing (I must stress this was the only thing in the entire stay) was that, we stayed in room 206. Next door was room 205. The plumbing in room 205 was directly behind the bed's headboard of room 206.. the evidence of the condensation from that plumbing could be seen on the wall and heardboard of our room.. Every time guests used the bathroom of room 205 the noisy plumbing (predominantly the cystern refilling) could be heard directly behind the bed in our room. It was the same when the hair dryer in room 205 was used. This wasn't a problem during daylight ours but, as guests came and went, habits changed and one guest used the bathroom several times during the night on one occasion keeping us awake. As I said at the beginning.. this was the only criticism of an otherwise lovely stay at the Grand Parco del Sole. We would most definitely stay there again should we visit Sorrento.
Outside enviroment was nice. Staff in geral were helpful.
It was a bit far from center, about 20 min by walking. Also breakfast was not so good.
The stay was ok, room nice although my room was on the roof! Bar and restaurant staff friendly but I did have a big problem on the last day when paying my bill as none of my cards would work in the card machine and neither would a relative's card in the uk. They insisted it was not their fault and after 3 hrs of embarssment I had to leave without paying the bill in full but had to pay on my return to the uk, having also missed the connecting bus to the airport and had to pay for a taxi. I feel that the Reception staff should've taken some resposibilty and resolved the situation sooner.
The approach to the Hotel, the pool was first class, sun beds for approx 100 guests, towels provided, good quality poolside loo's, outside bar and food was very good, cost of food no more than 5 euros, drinks from 2.50 euros, Breakfast typical continental, plus hot breakfast. Service was good, however, make sure if you order a taxi, that the reception understand you, very good courtesy bus service into Sorrento till 23.00 hours. Hotel rooms good, with balconies, and spotlessly clean. Would I stay there again? At 90e a night, yes,
